It is with great sadness and forever broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Alessandro Pica on June 6, 2025, at the age of 36. Alessandro was born on May 29, 1989 in Vancouver, B.C., to Licio and Zeneida Pica.
Alessandro had a deep and unwavering passion for debate - it was one of the ways he connected with others and shared his heart. He built rich friendships and genuine connections with many of those that he had encountered. He was a lifelong seeker of knowledge, known for his ambition and spiritual depth. Alessandro’s journey took him from a career in banking to entrepreneurship, where he was able to fully pursue his passion for photography and videography. Full of life and humor, he had a deep love for nature and a spirit of adventure that led him to explore four of the world’s seven continents. Despite his pursued healthy lifestyle, his life was cut tragically short. He is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Alessandro is survived by: parents Licio and Zeneida; brother Ettore and sister-in-law Kotomi, nephew Kenzo and niece Misha; sister Antonella and brother-in-law Francesco; sister Adrienne and brother-in-law Michael, nieces Cassandra, Dakota and great-niece Jasmine; and sister Renée.
Family and friends are invited to remember Alessandro during visitation on June 22, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Westminster Funeral and Reception Centre located at 5826 Bathurst Street, Toronto. Private funeral and mass services are at 10:30am on June 23, 2025, under the direction of Westminster Cemetery and Funeral Centre (Trillium Chapel), with the committal service following at 5830 Bathurst Street.
Alessandro’s many loves included animals and nature. In support of this, his siblings have dedicated a tree in his name. We invite others to join us in this endeavor and in lieu of flowers donate to one of the following charities:
