Angelina Di Tomaso

Jun 9, 1929 — Jul 30, 2026

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Angelina Di Tomaso (née Lastoria) on Thursday July 30, 2026, at the age of 97.

Beloved wife of the late Nicola Di Tomaso. Cherished mother of John (Anna-Maria), Tony, Joe, Nancy (Todd Moore) and Lucy (Len Little). Loving and proud Nonna to James (Fernanda), Laura, the late Anthony, Francesca (Nelson), Emma, Rebecca (Blake), Rachel, Brianna (Kieran), Lisa (Isaac), Lee Anne (Phil), Liam, and Luke (Courtney). Caring Bisnonna to Julianna, Nicholas, Adriano, Alessandro, Maisy, and Steven.

Angelina was born on June 9, 1929, in Civitanova del Sannio, Isernia, Italy. Loving daughter of Antonio and Annunziata Lastoria. Angelina immigrated to Canada in search of a better future, carrying with her the strength, resilience, and rich traditions that would shape her family for generations to come. She was deeply proud of her Italian heritage and shared her love of family, food, faith, and tradition with everyone around her.

Angelina was the center of her family. She welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness, always making those around her feel at home. Her kitchen was the heart of the family, where everyone was welcomed with a warm meal, good conversation, and the comfort of being together. Countless memories were made around her table as family traditions were passed down and love was expressed through every dish she prepared.

She also had a passion for gardening. Though her Toronto backyard was modest in size, she made the most of every inch, cultivating an abundant garden filled with vegetables and herbs. She took great pride in growing her own produce and found immense joy in sharing the fruits of her labour with family, friends, and neighbours. Her garden was a reflection of her generous spirit—always nurturing, always giving.

She will be forever cherished by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.

Although we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace. Her strength, generosity, and enduring love will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Cemetery, Mausoleum & Cremation Centre on Friday August 7, from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Westminster Cemetery, Mausoleum & Cremation Centre on Saturday August 8, at 11 am followed by interment.

Angelina's memory will forever be a blessing. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations to be made in Angelina’s memory to Sinai Health Foundation or to the Ronald McDonald House Charity-Toronto.
