Annibale "Andy" Di Tata

It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Annibale “Andy” Di Tata on October 11, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born in Bagnoli del Trigno, Molise, Italy and passed away after a short stay under compassionate support of the palliative care team at Providence Healthcare. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Iside (nee Martino), his daughter, Nella (Norman), son, Domenico (Sylvia), loving granddaughters, Jessica, and Cristina (Michael), and step-grandchildren Connie, Daniella (Carmine), Franco and Francesca. Andy is reunited with his parents, Domenico and Anna, brother, Pietro, and sisters,Maria, and Gilda. 

Andy was a hard-working, reliable, kind, and resilientman. He immigrated to Canada in 1952. He often recounted stories of his time spent growing up in Italy,travels taken, and projects he worked on before retiring from his operating engineer career. He knew a song for almost every occasion. He would always share a story, a joke or a smile with friends, family, and new acquaintances alike. Andy loved to work on his flower and vegetable garden, make wine, do crosswords, travel, swim, root for the Lazio soccer team, work on handy projects, and spend cherished time with family and friends. Andy was proud of his family and was happiest when surrounded by loved ones. 

Andy will be held dear in the hearts of his family and friends. 

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family welcomes you to come celebrate his life and share memories on Thursday, October 19^th, 2023 from 9:30am until the commencement of the Funeral Service at 11:00am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
