In loving memory Antonietta Di Biase (neé Petosa), born on May 6, 1935, in Vinchiaturo, Campobasso, Molise, Italy, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025.
A devoted seamstress, Antonietta dedicated her career at Cooper Canada constructing hockey gloves and goalie pads for many Hall of Fame hockey players. Her passion was matched only by her culinary talents; she was renowned for her delicious cooking and baking, particularly her famous homemade tomato sauce. Antonietta's home was often a loving gathering place for family and friends, where she would share her delightful dishes while vibrant laughter filled the air.
Family meant everything to Antonietta. She is now reunited in Heaven with her husband of 70 years, Giovanni. Cherished mother to Angela (Luciano) & Frank. Antonietta took great pride in being a grandmother to Christina (Massimo), John (Cinzia), Robert (Serena) and Stefanie (Mark). Her heart was filled with joy as she spent time with her great-grandchildren, Christian, Michael, Giacomo, Elise, Emilia and Nicolas.
Their lives were enriched by Antonietta's unwavering kindness and sense of humor, which constantly reminded them that joy could be found even in life's simplest moments. Alongside her children, she will be fondly remembered for the warmth and love she shared with her five brothers and one sister, creating a legacy of family bonds that will endure through the generations. Antonietta will be fondly remembered by her many family members, nieces, nephews and friends.
Antonietta's interests extended beyond her kitchen and sewing room; she also found joy in dancing and singing, often putting on performances that brought smiles and laughter to those around her. Her loving nature truly enveloped all who knew her, and her genuine spirit became a source of light, guiding her family and friends through both laughter and tears.
Antonietta Di Biase leaves behind a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her legacy will continue to inspire, bringing people together in the spirit she cherished throughout her life. She will be deeply missed, forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. The coming days will bring gatherings to honour Antonietta’s remarkable life. Visitation will take place on July 25, 2025, at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre in Toronto from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow, commencing at 12:15 PM, before her interment at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum at 1:00 PM.
