Antonio Porcelli, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born on November 10, 1940, in Sorianello, Vibo Valentia, Italy, where his love for cooking and the warmth of family began to grow.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Tina, who stood by his side through life’s journeys. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Marinella (Antonio) and Loredana (Derek), his loving son Livio, and his beloved grandchildren, Alessia, Luciano and Antonio-Joshua. He is survived by his siblings Pina, Attilio, Joe and Eleonora.
Antonio was a vibrant spirit whose heart radiated warmth and kindness. What a life he lived—coming from Calabria, Italy at the age of 16 he built a new life in Toronto, Canada raising 3 children and creating a home filled with love, laughter and hard work. He was the classic immigrant success story. He owned a coffee truck and fed the men who literally built this city. His job was not just a business for him but a labour of love. His “consumers” would wait eagerly for his arrival, not only for the food, but for the joy of seeing his smile.
A man of many interests, Antonio found solace in cooking and community engagement, always ready to offer his assistance at the church or lend a hand to a neighbour in need. He enjoyed taking summer vacations at his beach house in Italy where he would sit under his huge fig tree and snack on fresh figs.
Antonio's zest of life and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but his legacy of love will live on across generations.
If so desired donations can be made in memory of Antonio to North York General Hospital and ShareLife
