Antonio Viscardi

Antonio Viscardi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Newmarket, Ontario, on October 30, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on July 13, 1942, in Lanciano, Abruzzo, Italy, Antonio's spirit resonated with positivity, creativity, and calmness throughout his life.

For 33 years, Antonio devoted himself to his work as a welder, an occupation that showcased his skill and dedication. Yet, it was within the warmth of his home where his true legacy thrived. Antonio cherished the moments spent with his beloved wife, Silvana, and their daughters, Nadia, Mina, and Denise. After a long day's work, he would return home to the comforting aroma of dinner prepared by Silvana, sharing evening meals around the table with his daughters, where laughter and warmth filled the air. As time would pass, it wasn't uncommon to find him falling asleep at the table or in front of the television, embodying the peace of a man who found joy in simple pleasures.

Family was the cornerstone of Antonio's life. He loved cooking for those he cared for, and his renowned scalloped potatoes became a family favorite, a dish synonymous with celebrations and gatherings that brought everyone together. His passion for wholeness extended into his hobbies, as he spent countless summer days tending to his garden, nurturing each plant with unwavering love. As seasons changed, he shifted his focus to making wine and prosciutto during the fall and winter, skills he was passionate about and eager to share with friends and loved ones alike.

Antonio's nurturing nature and the strong bonds he formed with his family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted wife, Silvana; daughters Nadia (with son-in-law Andre), Mina (with son-in-law Dennis), and Denise (with son-in-law Brad); grandchildren Melissa, Luca, Antonio, Silvana, Jonathan and Daniel; great-grandchildren Cristiano, Chiara, and Cora; as well as loving siblings Caterina and Isolina. He is also reunited in heaven with his brothers, Nicola, Angelo, Dioniono, Domenico, Pierino, and his parents, Giovanni and Filomena.

Antonio's sense of humor, calm demeanor, and creative spirit touched the lives of many, cultivating not just a family but a community bonded through love, laughter, and shared experiences. His presence will be greatly missed, yet his legacy will continue through the stories and memories cherished by all who knew him.

Antonio Viscardi will be remembered not just for his skilled hands but for the kind heart that connected him to those he loved. As he reunites with family in heaven, we find solace in knowing that he is together with his brothers once again, tending to their gardens, surrounded by the love of their parents.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre 5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. the family will receive guests on Sunday November 9, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel on Monday November 10, 2025 at 11:30 am. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
