We announce with sorrow the peaceful passing of Aquilina Carbone (née Reda), on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late Pasquale Carbone, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Cherished mother of Marisa and her husband Franco; Antonietta and her husband Tullio; and Mirella and her husband Pasquale. Adoring and proud Nonna of Remo, Elisa (Chris), Stefania (Alex), Matteo (Ashley), Diana (Francesco), and Fabio (Bailey), each of whom held a special place in her heart. Devoted Bisnonna to Lennon, Marco, Harper, and Roman, who brought her endless joy in her later years. Dearest sister of Carmine and his wife Rosetta, and Ottavio and his wife Vita.
Aquilina was born on August 1, 1936, in Carolei, Cosenza, Italy, the beloved daughter of Luigi and Gelsomina Reda. Though she made her life far from Carolei, the warmth and traditions of her homeland never left her — she wove them into every meal, every gathering, every moment shared with those she loved.
Aquilina will be lovingly remembered for her strength, generosity, grace, and the quiet devotion with which she cared for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love enduring in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations to be made in Aquilina’s memory to the Alzheimer Society or Diabetes Canada
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather and share their memories of Aquilina at the Visitation on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre, 5826 Bathurst St, Toronto.
