Aurora Balmonte Balin

December 14, 1938 — August 2, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aurora Balmonte Balin, affectionately known as Sally, on August 2, 2025, in North York, Ontario, Canada. Born on December 14, 1938, in Natividad, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a radiant spirit who lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering generosity.

Aurora was a wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose name was synonymous with the warmth of family gatherings. She had an extraordinary ability to bring people together, creating a vibrant tapestry of love and connection. Never one to shy away from a party, Aurora loved to feed everyone around her and could always be counted on to take the microphone for a karaoke session. Each moment spent with her was infused with joy as she showed everyone the true meaning of hospitality and connection.

In the early 1990s, she bravely moved to Canada, embarking on a journey that would enable her to foster deeper relationships with her family. Her devotion was remarkable; she helped raise many of her grandchildren, ensuring they had every opportunity to thrive. With her generous heart, Aurora's influence in their lives will resonate for generations to come.

Family members describe her as their "queen of hearts" - a loving, caring, and beautiful soul. Words like “jolly,” “thoughtful,” and “resilient” perfectly encapsulate the essence of Aurora. Her strength was admired by all, and her kindness extended not only to family but to friends who quickly became family. Aurora was always ready with a call or video chat, checking in on loved ones near and far, a testament to her selfless nature.

Aurora leaves behind her devoted husband, Isidro Balin, and her dearly loved children: Aurora Frias (Rodrigo Frias), Rosauro Victor Balin (Delia Balin), Rogelio Balin, Avelina Villanueva (Lindo Villanueva), Adelaida Aquino (Sunny Aquino), Amelia Macayana (Boyette Macayana), and her daughter-in-law, Barbie Balin, loving wife of the late Christian Balin.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 30 treasured grandchildren and 33 precious great-grandchildren, each carrying forward her legacy of love, faith, and unity.

Aurora is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved sons, Rudy Balin Jr. and Christian Balin; her cherished daughters-in-law, Angelina Balin (wife of Rudy Jr.) and Analiza Balin (wife of Rogelio Balin). Their memories, along with the deep love of all who knew her, will forever keep her spirit alive in the hearts of her family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on August 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre in Toronto. The funeral service will take place the following day, August 17, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
