Obituary

In loving memory of Bruno Dario Rea who passed away on May 18, 2026 in Collingwood at the age of 80. Bruno was born in Arpino, Frosinone, Italy, on April 9, 1946.

Bruno was a beloved father to Rita (Clovis), Nadia (Peter), Nancy (Carlos), Louise (Andrew), and Cynthia (Billy). He was a proud and loving Nonno to Christian, Marcello, Trinity, Bianca, Trichelle, Thomas, Michael, Gabriel, Adrian, Chloe, and Luna, and a cherished Bisnonno to Chiana. Bruno was also filled with excitement to learn that he would be welcoming a new great-granddaughter this coming July.

He was a dedicated brother to Ulderico (Maria Pia), Antonio (the late Anna), and Giovanna (the late Armando).

Bruno was the loving and devoted partner of Giovina (Gina). Together for nearly 30 years, he and Gina shared a truly special bond. They found great joy in cooking their favorite foods, watching Italian television shows, and traveling together to Mexico, Punta Cana, and their beloved homeland of Italy.

After coming to Canada with his family to build a new life, Bruno dedicated nearly 53 years of service to the Coca-Cola Company, setting a historic record as the longest-serving employee worldwide. The true epitome of hard work and reliability, Bruno genuinely loved going to work. For many years, he took great pride in planning the company picnics, and even in retirement, he always made time to visit his former colleagues, share a coffee, and play the lottery.

An avid gardener, Bruno was famous for growing tomatoes, hot peppers, and a variety of other vegetables. He was especially proud of his marvelous fig tree, which he nurtured and treasured. The fruits of his labor were evident every summer when his garden was in full bloom, bringing the family together to enjoy fresh harvests and Nonno’s legendary, second-to-none speducci. For many years, Bruno hosted Father’s Day at his home, and it brought him tremendous joy to see his family and friends gathering, laughing, and celebrating together.

One of Bruno’s greatest passions was hunting, particularly in Northern Ontario, and he loved sharing the many stories of his wilderness adventures. His deep love for the great outdoors and the beauty of the Collingwood mountains ultimately drew him to reside in Wasaga Beach. He truly loved his home there, often taking walks down to the beach where so many beautiful summers were spent surrounded by his family.

Bruno will be remembered for his immense strength, independence, perseverance, generosity, and above all, his deep love for his five daughters. He instilled in them a profound sense of pride, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering devotion to family.

He leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories, invaluable lessons, and unforgettable stories that will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

Bruno will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
