Cathy (Caterina) Calabretta

Caterina (Cathy) Calabretta passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 88. Born March 20, 1937, Cathy left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and loving nature brought warmth and joy to her family and friends throughout her life.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Anthony, and her cherished son, Peter.

Devoted mother to Eva (Michael), Giovanna, and daughter-in-law, Cate, who carry on her legacy of love and nurturing. As a Nonna, Cathy found immense happiness in the company of her grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Mitchell, Meaghan (Ian), Jonathan, and Laura (Alec). Adoring Bisnonna to Declan and Lachlan. Survived by her siblings, Phyllis Carroll and John (Helen) Esposito.

Cathy cherished moments spent cooking in the kitchen, where her house was filled with laughter and the sweet aroma of her delicious creations. She enjoyed hosting large family meals that often included neighbours and friends. The memories crafted during these gatherings will be held close to the hearts of her family forever.

Her passion for life was reflected in her interests and hobbies. A lover of cats, she found companionship and comfort in their playful antics. Cathy volunteered with a local cat rescue group for many years. Her enthusiasm for cooking extended into a love for Italian music and movies, which often filled her home with the echoes of heartfelt songs and joyful tales. Cathy enjoyed travelling to Cenadi, Italy, her hometown in Southern Italy over the years. Her personality shone brightest when she was surrounded by family, and her ability to create a nurturing environment was a testament to her caring nature.

Cathy Calabretta's legacy of love, fun, and care will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family and friends.
