Concetta (Tina) Romano, age 94, of Alliston, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026.

Concetta was born in the city of Noto, in the province of Siracusa, Italy. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Italy before immigrating to Canada in 1967 with her beloved husband, Vittorio, and their family. After settling in Canada, Concetta worked for several years as an accountant with Excelsior Foods and later at the Ontario Food Terminal, where she remained until her retirement.

Affectionately known as Nonna Tina, Concetta was an easygoing woman who embraced a simple and laid-back lifestyle. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and took pleasure in life’s small delights—playing cards and bingo, baking for loved ones, dining at her favourite restaurants, Marcello’s and Da Grazia, and trying her luck at the slot machines, whether at the casino or on her computer. She was always quick to correct any missteps in spoken Italian and generously shared stories and wisdom drawn from her family’s experiences during the Second World War in Sicily.

In her later years, Concetta faced declining health with remarkable courage and resilience. Despite enduring three major surgeries to her leg and hips, she persevered with unwavering determination and was able to walk again, a testament to her strong will and fighting spirit.

Concetta was predeceased by her devoted husband, Vittorio Romano, and by her cherished grandchildren, Valerie and Victor.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Corrada, Marcella, and Mary; her grandchildren Sam, Gabriel, Rita, Lisa, Joanne, Linda, Tony, and Paul; and her 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of pride and joy in her life.

Concetta’s legacy of strength, warmth, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Thursday February 5, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel on Friday February 6, 2026 at 2:00pm. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
