A Tribute to Courtney Taylor

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Courtney Taylor, who departed this life on June 17, 2026, at the age of 65.

Courtney was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on August 3, 1960, to Daisy and Naaman Taylor, both of whom predeceased him. In 1970, he immigrated to Canada with his mother and siblings to reunite with his father and begin a new chapter of life.

Courtney attended West Preparatory Public School, Lawrence Heights Junior High School in Toronto, and Chinguacousy Secondary School in Bramalea, Ontario, where he excelled academically and athletically. A gifted athlete, he participated in football, track and field, and other sports. In 1980, he graduated from high school and went on to attend Wilfred Laurier University in Kitchener, ON, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1984. He later completed studies in Kinesiology.

While at university, Courtney continued to pursue his passion for football. His talent earned him opportunities with both the Ottawa Rough Riders and the Toronto Argonauts football organizations of the CFL.

In 1985, Courtney began his career as a Leasing Consultant at Colony Ford Lincoln, where he remained a dedicated and valued employee for more than four decades. He was respected for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to serving his clients, many of whom became lifelong friends.

Courtney was a man of strong principles, exceptional character, and remarkable kindness. He believed in hard work, punctuality, honesty, and treating others with dignity and respect. Family and friends admired his dependability, generosity, and willingness to help others without hesitation.

Known for his warm smile and gentle spirit, Courtney had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He took a genuine interest in others, offering encouragement, guidance, and support whenever it was needed. His nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends especially appreciated his wisdom, compassion, and willingness to listen.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Courtney loved football, basketball, baseball, Formula One racing, and many other sports. As a devoted Toronto Raptors season ticket holder, he often shared memorable game experiences with family, friends, and clients, creating lasting bonds through his love of sports.

Family was at the center of Courtney’s life. He cherished family gatherings, celebrations, and opportunities to spend time with loved ones. He shared especially close relationships with his brothers and remained committed to maintaining strong family connections throughout his life.

In 2020, Courtney founded Daisy's Reach – Helping Hands, Uplifting Souls, a charitable initiative named in honour of his mother. Through this organization, he provided meals and support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. This work reflected his lifelong commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in his community.

Courtney will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. Though he is no longer with us in person, his legacy of service, love, and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Courtney was predeceased by his parents, Daisy and Naaman Taylor, and his brother, Holee (Trevor) Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Llewellyn (Louis), Hopeton, and Hewitt; his sisters, Angela and Joan; his stepmother, Mrs. Orrett Taylor; his former spouse, Chantal; his stepson, Tychon; his goddaughter, Layla, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Forever remembered, deeply loved, and greatly missed.
