Domenico Fera

Domenico Fera, lovingly known as "Zio Mico," passed away on November 10, 2023. Born on January 19, 1932, Zio Mico lived a life marked by compassion, laughter, and hard work. With his infectious sense of humor and magnetic charisma, he effortlessly drew people into his world. Zio Mico's heart overflowed with love and warmth, evident in the countless friendships he cultivated over the years.

He is now reunited in Heaven with his loving wife of 52 years Maria, cherished son Nick, dear parents Cosimo and Vittoria and his many siblings. Domenico is survived by his beloved children, grandchildren, siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Domenico had an incredible talent for cultivating connections. He was known for being incredibly social and making friends wherever he went. His welcoming nature created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made people feel at ease his company. Zio Mico had a genuine interest in others' lives and would go out his way to ensure everyone felt valued and heard.

Outside of work and socializing, Domenico found solace in various hobbies and interests that added color to his life. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed catching and releasing birds, specifically goldfinches. Gardening brought him great joy. Additionally, he owned chickens and pigeons, cherishing the simple pleasures that came with caring for them. Zio Mico also cherished his time spent with friends, creating precious memories that will be treasured for years to come. Finally, he eagerly awaited tomato and sausage season, reveling in the flavors of his Italian heritage.

Domenico Fera's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His kind spirit, zest for life, and unwavering dedication will continue shining brightly through the memories shared by family and friends.

Zio Mico will always be remembered for his vivacious personality. With a big sense of humor and an infectious smile, he brightened the lives of everyone around him. His quick wit and ability to find joy in the simplest moments brought laughter to countless gatherings. Whether it was sharing stories around the dinner table or cracking jokes at family get-togethers, Domenico's presence was truly uplifting.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, let us remember Zio Mico with fondness and gratitude for the beautiful moments he brought into our lives. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he made a lasting impact on all those whose lives he touched with his love, laughter, and unwavering kindness.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family welcomes you to come celebrate his life and share memories with them on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Friday November 17, 2023, at 10:00am, with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery and Mausoleum.
