Donato Aquilino

With deep sadness, the family of Donato Aquilino announces his peaceful passing on August 3, 2026, at the age of 80, with his family by his side.

Born in Orsara di Puglia, Foggia, Italy, Donato was predeceased by his beloved parents, Giuseppe and Placida Aquilino, and his dear brother, Rocco.

Beloved husband of Rosa Aquilino, devoted father of Joe (Enza) and Patrizia (Fausto), and cherished Nonno of Giulia, Simona, Matteo, Giuseppe, and Alessia. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Michele (Michelina), sister Antonietta (Leonardo), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Girolamo (Rosetta), Giuseppe (Graziella), Nella (Domenico), and Franco (Stephanie), as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Donato was a hardworking, humble, and devoted man whose life was defined by honesty, kindness, and quiet strength. He worked tirelessly to provide for those he loved, always believing that caring for his family was one of life’s greatest responsibilities. Frugal by nature and generous in spirit, he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — tending his garden, sharing stories, and welcoming others with his warm smile and kind heart.

His greatest joy was the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and loved ones — gathered around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and treasured moments together.

Donato will be remembered for the love he gave, the values he lived by, and the many lives he touched. Though deeply missed, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

"Pace e bene". These words guided Donato throughout his life — a legacy of peace, kindness, gratitude, and love that he leaves behind for all to carry forward.

The family sincerely thanks the team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Hennick Humber Hospital for the compassionate care, dignity, and kindness they provided to Donato and his family throughout his journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society's In Memory Giving Program or to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Donato's memory.
