Filomena Forgione

On February 11, 2026, Filomena Forgione (nee Taurasi) passed away peacefully in her 88th year. From her birthplace in Gesualdo, Italy through to the many years that she resided in Toronto, Filomena lived a life rooted in devotion to her family. The home that Filomena shared with her loving and late husband, Agostino Forgione, was a place of gathering, laughter and comfort. In her kitchen, Filomena expressed her love by preparing meals that brought everyone together.

Filomena delighted in playing Italian card games and treasured the simple pleasure of conversation, often spending hours talking with friends and sharing stories. Whether tending to her vegetable garden or carefully nurturing her flower beds, Filomena found joy in watching things grow — much like the children and grandchildren that she showered with affection and wisdom. Filomena will be forever loved and remembered by her children: Rocco (Tina), Tilda (Peter) and Aldo (Anna).

Nonna was immensely proud of each of her seven grandchildren: Andrew (Jennifer), Kaitlyn (Martin), Justin (Florence), Cassandra (Michael), Eric, Rachel and Arianna. Nonna’s legacy lives on in the traditions and recipes she passed down to her children and grandchildren and in the many good memories shared by her friends and family.

Filomena will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, compassion and generosity.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Monday February 16, 2026 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at 10:30am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
