Fioravante Di Giovanni, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 17, 1935, Fioravante dedicated his life to his family and his work, making a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A dedicated construction worker by trade, Fioravante's hands crafted not just buildings, but also a legacy of hard work and resilience. His passion for life extended far beyond his professional career, as he found joy in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. Fioravante loved hunting deer and moose, tending to his vibrant vegetable garden, and delighting in the art of making cheese, salami, and wine. These hobbies were not merely pastimes for him; they were expressions of love, creativity, and the joy of sharing with his family and friends.
Fioravante's warmth and kindness shone through in every interaction he had. He leaves behind his beloved wife Rosalia, who was not only his partner but also his confidant and best friend. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, tradition, and shared memories. Fioravante is also survived by his cherished children, Ida (Joseph) and Livia (Barbara), who carry forward the values he instilled in them: strength, integrity, and a deep appreciation for family.
He took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Andrea (Beemnet) and Jessica (Jerry), who were the light of his life. Fioravante’s stories and wisdom will be remembered fondly, and his love will continue to guide them through their own lives. He is also survived by his siblings, Alberto (Angela) and Angelina, with whom he shared a bond that transcended time and geography. Fioravante will always be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, who have been touched by his generous spirit.
Though Fioravante has departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He taught us all the importance of family, community, and embracing life with open arms and a generous heart. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his laughter, love, and unwavering kindness.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Fioravante to the Canadian Cancer Society
