Francesco Cesario

Francesco Cesario, had a warm and charismatic personality to those who knew him personally or in the community, passed away peacefully on February 23 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 96. Cherished husband to Angelina, father to Natale (Victoria), Nancy (Mario), Carmen (Marvee) and Anna, grandfather to Giancarlo (Marie), Francesco (Cassie), Carla (Alessandro), Nina (Rob), Emily (Anthony), Daniella and Angela and great-grandfather to Gabriel, Violet, Bianca, Mauro, Madelyn, Julian and Eliana, sisters Rita (late Francesco), Santina (Equerino), Yolanda (late Alex), and Lydia (late Salvatore) and will join his siblings in heaven, Joseph, Vincenzo, Carolina, Maria, and Divina.

Francesco was born on February 24 1928 in Cosenza (Italy) to Natale & Nunziata. He grew up in the village of Zumpano, where he met his wife Angelina and was passionate about family values and work ethic as he & Angelina along with their first born child (Natale) prepared to be first in the family to voyage to Canada and start a new life in 1953.

Francesco's greatest joys in life included hosting family gatherings, spending time with children and grand children at his farm but everyone knew Francesco for his passion for gardening.

Francesco will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. Though he may no longer walk among us, his legacy of warmth, wisdom, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come.

A celebration of Francesco's life will be at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst Street), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery; it is the first building on your left. The family welcomes you to celebrate his life and share memories with them on Thursday February 29, from 2-4pm & 6-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel at Westminster on Friday March 1 at 10:00am. Once the Funeral Service has concluded the immediate family will make their way to complete a private entombment.

May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was dearly loved and will never be forgotten.
