Francesco (Frank) Paolo Di Lecce, 1940 – 2026
It is with deep gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Francesco (Frank) Paolo Di Lecce announces his peaceful passing.
Born in 1940 in Matera, Italy, to Nunzio and Maria Di Lecce, Frank was raised in the ancient Sassi neighbourhood alongside his siblings — Nick, Manny, Peter, Jessie, Tony, Joanne, and Rosa. From humble beginnings, he developed a strength of character and a work ethic that would define him for the rest of his life.
In 1960, at the age of twenty, Frank made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada, settling in Toronto and building a new life with determination and faith. He dedicated approximately thirty years to the flooring trade as a skilled tile setter — a craftsman who took immense pride in his work and accepted nothing less than flawless.
On September 3, 1966, he married the love of his life, Susie, whom sadly passed away in 2024. He is survived by his sons Nunzio (Jackie) and Paul, and his grandson Daniel.
Frank was a founding member of Weston Road Pentecostal Church in 1981, where he remained a devoted and faithful member until the end of his life. His faith in Jesus Christ was not something he merely practised — it was who he was.
He is remembered as an honest, humble, and sincere man who loved his family deeply and his God above all. As he himself said in his final days: “Push love, don’t push hate — because love will come back to you.”
He is not lost. He is exactly where he always believed he would be — at rest, at peace, and at home in the arms of Jesus.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
