It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco(Frank) Femia, at the age of 74. From a very young age, Frank demonstrated strength, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility. Following the loss of his father Tommaso, at just 13 years of age, he entered the workforce to help support his family. That unwavering work ethic remained with him throughout his life and became one of the qualities for which he was most admired. For more than 25 years Frank served as a devoted custodian of the Toronto District School Board. His dedication, reliability, and pride in his work earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues, students, and staff alike. Frank enjoyed chatting with neighbours, catching up with friends and family, or striking up a conversation with someone new. He always had time to connect with others. He had a lifelong passion for classic music of the 1960’s and 1970’s, and the soundtrack of those decades brought him endless enjoyment.
He also had a keen interest in current events, and it was rare to find his television tuned into anything other than CP24 or CityTv, keeping him informed about the world around him. He is survived by his sister Maria (Carlo), his brother Aldo; his nephews Marc (Concetta) and Matthew (Kaitlin), his niece Natalie (Alessandro); his aunts Teresa Luca and Rose Luca, his great nieces and nephews, Grace, Sofia, Carlo, and Thomas; and his cherished mother Clementina. He also leaves behind many cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
