In Loving Memory of Frank “Ciccio” De Filippo
January 15, 1940 – October 27, 2026
It is with profound sadness and everlasting love that we announce the passing of Frank “Ciccio” De Filippo, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at Markham Stouffville Hospital, at the age of 86.
Born on January 15, 1940, in Modugno, Italy, Frank lived a remarkable life defined by determination, generosity, strength of character, and an unwavering devotion to family.
Frank shared more than 61 years of marriage with his beloved late wife, Rosa De Filippo (née Acquafredda). Their love story began as childhood neighbours in Italy and grew into a lifetime of cherished traditions, laughter, and enduring love.
A devoted father and grandfather, Frank’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his only daughter, Mariella, and her husband, Lucien, and his cherished grandchildren, Marissa and Ryan, who brought him immeasurable happiness and pride.
Frank was predeceased by his brothers John (the late Maria Lisa) and Gino (the late Isa). He will be lovingly remembered by John’s son Vito and Gino’s daughter Mary; his sisters Porzia (the late Luigi), and children Tony, Lorenzo, and Mariella; Teresa (the late Franchino), and children Tonia, Pinuccio, Mariella, and Rosa; and his brother Joey (Elena), and son Claudio. He was also predeceased by Joey and Elena’s son GianVito.
Frank will also be fondly remembered by Rosa’s family, with whom he shared a lifetime of treasured memories: his sister-in-law Emilia (the late Mauro), and children Pino, Maria Antonietta, Pasquale, and Roberto; his brother-in-law Pietro (Teresa), and daughters Rosalba and Marlea; and his brother-in-law Peppino (Nancy; predeceased by his first wife, Karen) and children Perry, Paul and Kathryn.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his many great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends in Canada and Italy.
While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, we take comfort in the countless memories he created, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind.
