It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Gaetano Capone, who departed this world on June 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 9, 1940, Gaetano lived a life rich with cherished moments and enduring relationships that left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Gaetano was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maria Rosina, with whom he shared a bond nurtured by love, respect, and unwavering commitment. His gentle spirit and deep kindness were evident in the way he cared for her, always ensuring her happiness and comfort.
A proud and loving father, Gaetano leaves behind his children: Sandra (Mario), Kelly (Rudy), Nick (Margaret), Julie (Vlod), and Susanne (Steven). His love, wisdom, and strength shaped their lives profoundly, and his legacy lives on through each of them.
He was also a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: David (Joanna), Michael, Stephanie (Daniel), and Matthew (Macy), who brought him immense joy and pride. Gaetano cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying each other's company. His presence in their lives was a source of love, stability, and warmth, and he treasured his role as their Nonno deeply.
Gaetano was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years as a foreman at Rex Manufacturing. He was admired for his strong leadership, integrity, and tireless work ethic—rarely missing a single day on the job. His perseverance and pride in his work were a true reflection of his character.
Outside of work and family, Gaetano found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching horse racing at Woodbine, tending to his garden, and cheering for his favorite soccer teams. These everyday passions reflected his zest for life and appreciation for the world around him.
In Gaetano’s passing, we remember a man who embodied love, warmth, and generosity. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, always.
If so desired donations can be made in memory of Gaetano to Toronto General Hospital and Heart & Stroke Foundation
