Blessed daughter of Rosa and Gennaro Calla. Wife to Antonio Fuda and angelic mom to Julie, Aurora, Danny, Maria and Frank and their spouses Joe, Tony, Franca and Mike. Loving grandmother to Jerry,Frankie,Lisa,Jimmy,Michael,Natasha,Cassandra and their spouses/partners Gloria, Andria,Gabriel,Matthew,Leslie,Angelo and loving great grandmother to Vienna,Anthony,Diego,Sebastian and Sofia. Beloved sister to Zio Joe, Zio Sam, Zio Rocco, Zia Mena and Zia Maria.

To say Giovanna Fuda was a unique human being does not quite cover it.  She was the sort of person that within one minute of knowing her, you knew you were in the presence of the most safe, kind, compassionate spirit and all your defenses could drop away.  You would think that with all the love she poured into the hearts of her own children, that she would have none left over for anyone else.  And nothing could be further from the truth.  Whether you were extended family, a neighbour, or even a complete stranger, you were never a stranger for long once you had the pleasure of knowing her.  She would never forget a word you spoke because she didn't just make idle conversation. She genuinely wanted to know more about you, had to know in fact.

Talk about a woman who never acted her age!  Giovanna was completely a kid at heart.  Whether it was listening to her favourite songs on the radio, dancing like some giggly schoolgirl alone in her room or hearing a cicada's piercing whistle on a warm August day, her face and eyes beamed with such a sweet joy for life.  Her unrestrained laughter was the most heartwarming sound and she was such an easy audience; so ready to be amused and entertained even by a butterfly crossing her path.  

All of these wonderful things, plus an incredible work ethic who took her role as woman of the house so responsibly.  This was no lazy person and the sacrifices she made during her lifetime for her kids will never be forgotten.  Our family was so incredibly blessed to have her as the centre of our world and she will continue to live in the centre of our hearts forever.  Thank you was a phrase she could say 20 times in an hour and so Thank you thank you thank you Mummy/Nonna.  We could never say it enough times to you. Love you sooooooo much our sweet angel.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral and Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steels on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst St.). After the long driveway, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Monday April 3, 2023 from 5-9p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westminster at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday April 4, 2023, with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum.
