Giovanni Carmosino

Giovanni Carmosino, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 89. Giovanni is survived by his devoted wife, Assunta, and together they raised two daughters, Michelle (Biagio) and Mary (Domenic). His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Carmine (Chloe), Daniela (Joe), Christina (Manny), Melissa, and Rebecca, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ava, Aria, Tatiana, Gianluca, and Milena. Giovanni also leaves behind his dear niece, Mirella.

Giovanni worked tirelessly in both Italy and Switzerland before coming to Canada with his wife and two children in the 1960s. He dedicated his life to ensuring his family lived comfortably with all of his unique home projects, which fostered decades of get-togethers and memories.

His garden was his passion; it housed over 300 tomato plants, amongst many other fruits and vegetables that fed and will continue to feed those closest to him. Whether it is his wooden spoons, or jars of sauce his impact will be felt forever.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Giovanni to the Alzheimer Society and Humber River Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Tuesday July 8, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at 11:30am. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
