It is with profound sadness and deep love that the family of Giuseppe (Joe) Sinopoli announces his peaceful passing on May 12, 2026, at the age of 88.

Giuseppe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antonietta, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and family memories. Together they built a strong and caring family that remained the centre of Giuseppe’s life.

He leaves behind his loving children: Marina (Frank), Vito (Cecilia), and Salvatore (Irene). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Marco (Carla), Elissa (Paul), Danielle and Joseph, and was overjoyed to become a great-grandfather to Eric, Justin, and Audrey.

Giuseppe was a man of many talents and simple pleasures. A skilled carpenter, he found satisfaction in building and creating with his hands. He had a lifelong passion for soccer. As a young man Giuseppe thrived as an athlete, playing at an elite level. He truly enjoyed watching soccer matches from any league. Whether it was a Serie A game, or a World Cup match, Giuseppe loved to critique the games and always shared his opinion with a glass of wine in hand. Giuseppe also took great pride in making homemade wine, a tradition he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. One of his favourite pastimes, taught to him by his uncles, was the ability to pick wild mushrooms. In the fall season Giuseppe would venture outdoors and return with a bounty of mushrooms, and was happy to see his family enjoy the fruits of his labour.

Above all else, Giuseppe valued family and togetherness. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, and he enjoyed the company of people whether it was sharing a meal, having a glass of wine, dancing to a classics tarantella, or playing a game of Briscola. Giuseppe loved life and wanted his family to share these experiences with him.

Giuseppe will be remembered for his strength, generosity, quiet wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Wednesday May 20, 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Thursday May 21, 2026 at 11:30am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
