Graziella Urzi

January 15, 1933 — November 12, 2023

Graziella Urzi (nee Cunsolo), a beloved wife, now reunited with her husband Giuseppe, mother, nonna, bisnonna and friend, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 12th, 2023, in Toronto at Humber River Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1933, in Catania, Sicily, Italy to her loving parents Giacomo and Giuseppina. Graziella leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories.

Graziella had a deep passion for fashion which she pursued wholeheartedly. She studied fashion design in Italy and brought her impeccable sense of style to everything she did. Her love for fashion was infectious; she had a unique ability to make everyone excited about dressing up for special occasions. Her words were always the seal of approval when it came to glamour and elegance.

In addition to her fashion flair, Graziella was an exceptional cook. Family feasts at her home were always a delight for everyone involved. The aroma of her delicious creations would fill the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and anticipation. Her skills in the kitchen were unmatched, and she took great pride in serving mouthwatering meals to her loved ones.

Beyond her talents and interests, Graziella was an outstanding mother to five children; Domenic (Silvana), Jack (Cettina), Marcella (Noel), Pinella (Maurizio), and Linda (Anthony) were incredibly fortunate to have such a positive influence in their lives. Graziella's love knew no bounds; she nurtured each one of them with unwavering care and devotion. Graziella's nurturing nature extended to her 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Her vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of her life. Graziella was independent, strong-willed, and courageous—a true force to be reckoned with. Her determination inspired those around her to pursue their dreams fearlessly. She instilled values of resilience and perseverance in her children and grandchildren that will continue to guide them throughout their lives.

Outside of her family, Graziella had a zest for life that knew no bounds. She found joy in traveling with her loved ones, and every trip was an adventure filled with laughter and cherished moments. Graziella's return home was always cause for celebration as she showered her family with love and spoils. She enjoyed indulging in the finer things in life; shopping, casino nights, and fine dining were among her favorite pastimes.

Graziella's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her infectious laughter, warm embraces, and genuine care for others will be deeply missed. Despite the overwhelming grief felt by all who loved her, there is solace in knowing that she has reunited with her husband Giuseppe, who preceded her in death.

Graziella's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on through the memories we hold dear. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love. As we gather to mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman, let us also celebrate the joy she brought into our lives. May she rest in eternal peace knowing how deeply she was loved and cherished.
