Lidia Schiavi

Lidia Schiavi, a loving and caring soul, passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on April 6, 1942 in Supino, Italy, she lived an adequate life filled with love, compassion, hopes and dreams. She married her husband, Luigi, in 1962 and later that year, they immigrated to Canada in search of a better life. Her spirit lives on through her children, Claudio (Mary) and Mauro, who were blessed to have been raised by such a remarkable woman. But perhaps one of the greatest joys in her life was being a grandmother to Adam Jonathan-a special man who held an irreplaceable place in her heart. She adored spending time with him, creating unforgettable memories filled with laughter and love. Adam enjoyed the care and attention she gave to him and appreciated the time he spent with her. Lidia has now been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Luigi and her dear parents Luigi and Maria.

One of Lidia’s greatest joys in life was baking and cooking. Her culinary skills were truly outstanding, and she delighted in preparing delicious meals and treats for her loved ones. Whether it was baking a sponge cake, whipping up something traditional or preparing a feast for a family gathering, Lidia’s talent in the kitchen brought people together and created lasting memories. Lidia’s warm, fun and wild spirit also shone through in her relationships with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Friday, February 9 at 2:00pm with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum.
