Margherita Stella, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 85, in Markham, ON, Canada. Born on October 1, 1939, in Pachino, Syracuse, Sicily, Margherita was a vibrant soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
In her later years, Margherita became well-known for her culinary talents, whether it was cooking hearty family meals or baking sweet treats that brought smiles to the faces of her loved ones. She had a special way of connecting with her family through food, creating lasting memories around the dinner table.
Margherita was also a lover of music, often found listening to the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley. With a twinkle in her eye, she would share with her grandchildren the playful tale that she was once Elvis Presley's girlfriend, a testament to her spirited personality and her ability to bring joy and laughter into every conversation.
Margherita is survived by her loving spouse, the late Lucente, and her devoted children, Armando (Rita) and late John. She takes great pride in her grandchildren, Tabitha, Louis, and Stefania (Lazaro), whose lives she enriched with her endless love and affection. Margherita was also a doting great-grandmother to Giovanni and Enzo, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Margherita will also be remembered by Tabitha and Louis' mother Cindy.
Further celebrating her life, Margherita leaves behind her dear sisters, Frances (late Giuseppe) and Josie (late Franco), who shared countless moments of love and laughter with her throughout their lives. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved brothers, the late Enrico (late Joanne), late Sal, and late Ray, as well as her late parents, Giovanni and Natalia Spadaro.
As we celebrate Margherita Stella’s remarkable life, we hold dear the memories of her love, her laughter, and her incredible spirit that will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Margherita, you will forever remain in our hearts.
