Maria Michela Di Gregorio

Maria Michela Di Gregorio, a beloved seamstress, passed away on October 9, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 8, 1933, in Cansano, L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy to parents who instilled strong values of hard work and dedication, Maria's life was filled with joy and warmth.

Maria was known for her incredible talent in the kitchen. Her meatballs, cannelloni and eggplant were legendary and always brought smiles to the faces of those lucky enough to try them. She had a true passion for cooking and turned every meal into a celebration of flavors.

Beyond her culinary skills, Maria found joy in tending to her vegetable garden and flower garden. Spending time outdoors among nature brought her a sense of peace and tranquility. She also cherished socializing with her friends and family and spending time at the family cottage in Gravenhurst.

Maria's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her grandchildren. She adored them with all her heart and took great delight in watching them grow into remarkable individuals. Proud Nonna to Michael, Johnathan (Sandra), Joseph, Jennifer, Justin, Nicholas, Christopher, Tori and Courtney. Bisnonna to Nathan, Alessandra and Valentina were the light of Maria's life and brought endless joy to her days. Her unconditional love for them will forever be remembered.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Nino; their sons Salvatore (Frances); Giovanni (Anna); Antonio (Libby). Maria's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in their lives but also countless precious memories that will bring comfort in the years to come.

The family invites all who knew Maria to celebrate her life at the Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre located at 5826 Bathurst St in Toronto on October 13th, 2023. Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

A Mass will be held at St. Paschal Baylon Parish on October 14th, 2023, starting at 9:30 AM. Located at 92 Steeles Ave. W in Toronto, this sacred ceremony will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together and honor Maria's life.

Following the Mass, a procession will lead to Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum at 5830 Bathurst St in Toronto, where Maria will be laid to rest during an entombment ceremony starting at 11:00 AM.

The loss of Maria has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit will forever be cherished by all. As we gather to remember her, let us also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in our hearts.
