We, the family are honoured to celebrate the joyous and long life of Maria Silvia. Her generosity, strength, kindness and love were the cornerstones of her life.

She is encircled with radiant light and love, where there is no beginning and no end. Left to grieve are George and Eva (the late Danilo); Sarah and Gavin (Everett and Declan); Heather and Jim and Geordie and Joanna (Annie and Nola) with their mother Marion.

Cathy, (Aiden and Christina, Aaron and Justin); Sarah and Paul (Marco) and Rose and Frank (the late Vince).

Carmen,(the late Stephen); Jordana and Peter (Hollis and Heath) and Justin, Oscar and Rose (Joseph, Paolo and Danielle with Drew and Thomas and Chloe with Angelo). Sandy (the late Daniela), Michael, Christina and Andrew (Gabriel); (the late Joe and Bruna).

As with many immigrant families, there were difficult struggles, sacrifices for their children, and hard work. They taught us to love Canada. (Mom loved Carney!) They saved their pennies that led to prosperity. Education was cherished. Love was always there but rarely spoken. Laughter was ever present.

A funeral service will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre, 5826 Bathurst Street, North York (between Finch Avenue West and Steeles Avenue West, located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery — first building on the left), on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
