Maria Nudo

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Maria Nudo on December 18, 2025, at the age of 83. Maria lived a full and vibrant life, defined by love, laughter, and deep devotion to her family—most especially to her beloved husband Luigi, her soulmate of 49 years. Their love story was one that everyone admired: constant, joyful, and enduring. They were always together, always in love, and always looking forward to their next adventure or vacation side by side.

Maria was a devoted and loving mother to Joseph (Rosie) and Angela (Bill), and a proud and adoring Nonna to Serena, Elizabeth, Callum, Evan and Madison (Alex). She found her greatest joy in her family, taking immense pride in each generation and creating memories filled with warmth, humour, and togetherness.

She is survived by her sister Elena (Richard), her brother Giancarlo (Lucie), and her sister -in-law Maria Ammirato. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Rosaria Celebre, and by her brother Aldo and sisters-in-law Darlene, Elvira and Raffaela.

Maria had a vibrant spirit and a personality that drew people in. She loved live entertainment, especially musicals and opera, and had a lifelong passion for shopping and fashion. She spent many years working as a sales associate at Eaton’s, where she was known for her warmth, style, and genuine connection with her customers. She had an infectious laugh, a positive outlook, and a way of sharing her opinions that made people feel uplifted and appreciated.

She also had a creative side, enjoying arts and crafts and generously volunteering her time at a local school, where her kindness and enthusiasm made a difference in the lives of others. Maria cherished life’s simple pleasures—meeting friends and family for coffee, sharing stories, and enjoying everyday moments filled with laughter and love.

Maria leaves behind a legacy of devotion, joy, and heartfelt connection. Her life was a testament to enduring love—especially the beautiful partnership she shared with Luigi—and to the importance of family, kindness, and living fully. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Friday December 26, 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel on Saturday December 27, 2025 at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery (4570 Yonge St, North York, ON M2N 5L6).
