Maria Prochilo

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother Maria Prochilo (nee De Angelis) on November 14th, 2023, at Markham-Stouffville Hospital at the age of 85.  Born on November 9, 1938, in Siderno, Reggio Calabria, Italy to parents Vincenzo and Rosa.

Reunited with her beloved husband Armando.  Loving mother of Carlo (Jeannie), Vince, Sam, Tony, and John (Gina).  Loving nonna to Casandra, Sara, Alex and Andrew.  Loving passo-nonna to Jim and Jenel, and great passo-nonna to Julia.  Loving sister to Joe (Rosetta), Ida (Benny), Franca (Fred), Albina (late Germano) and Luciana (Sean).  Maria will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends.  She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left.  The family welcomes you to come celebrate her life and share memories with them on Friday, November 24th from 4:00-8:00pm and on Saturday, November 25th from 9:30-10:30am.  The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Saturday, November 25th at 10:30am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.  Afterwards, sandwiches and beverages will be served in the main reception room.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
