Maria Rosso

Maria Rosso (née D'Attilio) passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. She was surrounded by her loved ones during her final moments. Maria's delightful and outgoing personality touched the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Born on October 20, 1928, in Navelli, L'Aquila, Italy, Maria led a rich and fulfilling life. She embraced her hobbies and interests with great passion, particularly knitting and cooking. Maria's skillful hands created countless beautiful knitted pieces that she lovingly shared with family and friends. Her mouth-watering recipes were treasured by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Maria found joy in nurturing her relationships and cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted wife to Domenico Rosso, with whom she spent many happy years building a life together. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment and support.
Maria was a loving mother to Josie (Peter) and Umberto (Pina), who always admired their mother's resilience and kindness.  Maria was also a beloved grandmother to Zachary and Hannah, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She is is now reunited in Heaven with her three brothers: Giuseppe, Domenico, and Gaudenzio. 
The loss of Maria extends beyond blood ties to include Lucy, Marina, and Evelyn—her dedicated caregivers—who became a part of her extended family. Their compassionate care allowed Maria to live each day with comfort and dignity.

Maria Rosso led a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her remarkable spirit will live on through her family and friends who treasure the time they shared with her. As we bid Maria farewell, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and continue to carry her legacy in our hearts.
In this time of grief, we extend our deepest sympathies to Domenico, Josie, Peter, Zachary, Hannah, Umberto, Pina and all those whose lives were touched by Maria's warm presence.
