Marina Franco

Mar 11, 1939 — Sep 13, 2026

With sadness, the family of Marina Franco announces her passing on September 13, 2026, at the age of 87.

Marina will be remembered by her daughters, Laura (Evan) and Marisa (Randy), with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor (Eddie), and her nephew Tom.

As a talented seamstress, Marina created Halloween costumes and elaborate dolls for her daughters, showcasing her creativity and skill. She was also an enthusiastic reader who built a treasured collection of books over the years and shared her love of reading with Laura and Marisa from an early age, and the time spent reading together became part of the many cherished memories of their childhood.

Marina also had a great appreciation for arts and culture. She enjoyed the theatre and the excitement of the Toronto International Film Festival. She was a member of a sorority and enjoyed the friendships and experiences that were part of her life.

Travel was another source of enjoyment, particularly her trips to Fort Lauderdale. Whether enjoying a good book, attending the theatre or a film, travelling south, or spending time with one of her beloved Pekingese dogs, Marina embraced the things that brought interest and enjoyment to her days.

Above all, Marina leaves behind the memories she created with her family and the interests and traditions she shared with them. Her love of reading, appreciation for the arts, affection for animals, and the many experiences she enjoyed throughout her life will remain part of how she is remembered.

Marina will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
