Melchor A. Calicdan, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on January 3, 1971, Melchor lived a life full of passion and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Ingrid, with whom he shared 29 beautiful years of marriage. Their bond, forged in years of love and companionship, will be cherished forever. Together they nurtured two remarkable children, Romniel (Sarah) and Christian, whose lives are testaments to the values instilled in them by their father. A doting grandfather to his precious grandson, Noah Raphael.
Melchor’s journey began with the loving guidance of his late parents, Romeo S. Sr. and Perla Calicdan, who shaped the man he became. He is survived by his siblings: Florence (Ulpiano), Marfren (Helen), Romeo Jr. (Belen), Evangeline (Arnel), Ramon (Susan), Melflor (Glenn Paul), Marisol (Chap), Mirian, Catherine (Jhonel), Richard (Valerie), and Chuchi (Kim) – each one carrying a part of his memory and legacy within their hearts.
He was a man of simple pleasures; he found joy in the crisp taste of Coke on a warm day, an enthusiasm of trucks that whispered tales of adventure on long-forgotten highways, and an ever-growing collection of shoes that mirrored his vibrant spirit. Each sneaker, each pair was like a chapter in a life well-lived, reflecting both his playful nature and his love for style. An avid basketball coach, he dedicated much of his leisure time to mentoring young athletes, teaching them the values of teamwork and discipline.
Melchor, you have embarked on your final journey, but the love and memories you leave behind will continue to envelop us like a warm embrace. Your vibrant spirit echo through the laughter of your grandchildren, the memories shared by your family, and the hearts of all you touched throughout your life. You will remain forever in our hearts.
