Melina Aiello

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Melina Aiello, who left us peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of 92. Melina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put family first.

Born in Castrolibero, Italy on October 6th, 1932, Melina carried with her the strength, warmth, and deep-rooted traditions of her Italian heritage throughout her life. After immigrating to Canada she built a life centered around family, love, and faith. Life handed her more than her fair share of heartaches, but she faced every challenge with grit and quiet determination. She was a tough lady in every sense of the word — resilient, sharp, and fiercely loving.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Antonio and their children Mirella and Bruno.

She leaves behind a large and loving family: Her son in law Antonio Torchia (late Mirella), sister Angelina (Italy) and sister-in-law Rita (late Mario); grandchildren Cathy (Danny), Frank (Ellie); great grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Luke, Emma and Matteo, and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Australia.

She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St). The family will receive guests on Thursday September 11, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Friday September 12, 2025 at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer society of Canada in her memory.
