Rashida Symoi Shepherd

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Rashida Symoi Shepherd, who departed this life on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 31, after a long and courageous battle with Lupus. Her presence, love, and light will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished her.

Born on August 14, 1994, in Toronto, Canada, Rashida lived a life that exemplified unwavering strength, remarkable resilience, a bold sense of adventure, and a courageous spirit. Beautiful inside and out, she carried a smile that could brighten any room and a vibrant energy that made every moment shared with her unforgettable.

Hardworking and devoted, Rashida poured her heart into her family, friendships, community, and advocacy for Lupus awareness. She was known for her loyalty, spunkiness, creativity, and unmistakable zest for life.

Rashida leaves behind an entire village that loved and adored her - her parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, and countless friends. She is predeceased by her uncle, Duane.

She will be remembered for her warm smile, her love for children, her passion for beauty, fashion, and style, and her impactful presence. Rashida faced every challenge head-on and lived boldly, refusing to let Lupus define her. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to live on in all who were blessed to share in her life.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Emergency and ICU teams at Scarborough Health Network – Centenary Hospital for their outstanding care and the profound respect they extended to Rashida during the brief hours leading up to her passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery, Mausoleum of Faith.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather in honour and remembrance of our beloved Rashida as she journeys into her final heavenly adventure.
