Riziero Mattoni

Riziero Mattoni, 86, passed away at home in Thornhill, Ontario on February 18, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Franca (Natalucci), his daughters Anna (William) and Floriana (Robert), and son Roland (Gudrun). Devoted grandfather to Julia, Michael, Vanessa, Natalie, Dante and Francesca.  

Riziero was born in Rome, Italy and moved his family to Toronto, Canada in mid 1960’s. He loved his new country and was proud when he and his family became Canadian citizens.  

He was a talented cabinet maker.  In addition to his passion for woodworking, he had a green thumb and loved to garden and always enjoyed good wine and food with friends and loved ones.  

What truly defined Riziero was his kind heart and love of family.  He devoted his life to making sure that his wife, children and grandchildren had all the love and support they needed.  His love extended to helping his siblings and their families by sponsoring, hosting and welcoming them into his home.

His passing will be a profound loss to his loved ones and all who knew him. The family welcomes loved ones and friends to celebrate his life and share our precious memories of Riziero.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst Street between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Friday February 23, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held in the Trillium Chapel at Westminster on Saturday February 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
