Robert Nicholas Steve Griss

It is with great sadness that we announce that Bob left us suddenly on July 24, 2026, at the age of 78, with his family by his side. We are still under shock, as it was a swift passage.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Virginia Sagsagat and his son, Mark. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Tim, his sister Maryanne (Robert) and his dear nieces (Karine, Melina (Jason)), and nephews (Adam (Naemah) Nicolas (Barbora) and Jeremy)). Bob was predeceased by his parents, Nicolas and Mary Griss.

Bob was born in 1948 in Montreal, Quebec and as he gained adulthood he moved to Edmonton, Alberta and finally settled in Toronto, Ontario.

Bob enjoyed the simple things in life and was respected and admired by all who knew him. Bob will be remembered for his dry wit and wicked sense of humour, which could light up a room and leave family and friends laughing long after the conversation had ended. Beneath that sharp humour was a kind, generous, and caring man who loved his family fiercely and had a special affection for animals. He was very loyal and steadfast and took care of his family. He always attended nieces, nephews and cousins’ weddings and other major events.

He was a father, friend, and hero and we will miss him terribly.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at the Westminster Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5826 Bathurst, North York

Service will take place Monday, August 24, 2026 at noon (12:00pm) at the Westminster Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5826 Bathurst, North York, following by a reception at the Willowdale 7th day Adventist church, 535 Finch Avenue west.
