It is with deep sadness and immensely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa Marascio.
Surrounded by her loving family, Rosa passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 93. Rosa leaves behind her cherished children: Frank (Connie), Marisa (Franco), and Antonietta (Gary). She was a proud and devoted Nonna to Diane, Angelo (Michelle), Elizabeth (Paul), Christina (Pierino), Daniel (Jessica), Adam (Samantha), and Andrew, and a loving Bisnonna to Luca, Valentina, Julian, Lorenzo, and Calista.
Rosa is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Antonio; her parents, Antonio and Vittina Perri; her in-laws, Franco and Caterina Marascio; and her dearly departed siblings; Vito (Giuseppina), Maria (Saverio), and Mario. She will be deeply missed by the siblings she leaves behind; Caterina (Giuseppe), Vincenza (late Salvatore), and Joe (Connie), as well as her sister-in-laws, and many family and friends.
Born on April 29, 1932, in San Vito, Italy, Rosa met the love of her life, Antonio, as a teenager. They later immigrated to Canada and were married on August 8, 1953, building a beautiful life grounded in love and family.
Rosa was a woman of warmth and generosity. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends and tending to her garden. She was an exceptional cook and baker, expressing her love through every meal she prepared, always ensuring that no one ever left her home hungry. Professionally, Rosa worked in the kitchen preparing trays for patients at Northwestern General Hospital.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Humber Meadows Long Term Care Home for the kindness, care, and comfort they provided during Rosa’s final years. Rosa will forever live in our hearts.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
