Obituary

Rosalba (Rosie) Mecca-Lancaster, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, following a hard fought battle with illness. Born in Toronto, on May 11, 1972, her life was a representation of kindness, and generosity for those she loved.

Rosie was a caregiver to her mother Stella, the proud mother of Sienna, loving wife of Paul, best friend to sisters Antoniette, and Lucy, role model to nieces, Stephanie C, Samantha, Jenna, Jessica, Stephanie M, and great aunt to baby Freya. Her presence will be greatly missed by sister-in-law Debbie, brother's-in-law, Mike, Sid and Andrew, nephews Malcolm, Dillon, Alexander, Joey, Mitchell, and David, mother-in-law Colleen, and father-in-law Bruce. She inspired the deepest of love amongst her friends and all those lucky enough to know her.

Rosie was a true original who followed her own path. The courage of her convictions always guided her to stand up for what she believed in, no matter where, no matter when. Her love of family was only closely matched by her love of animals, and in particular, her fur babies Charlie, Sage, and Frankie, whom she surrounded herself with at all times.

Rosie gave generously of herself, donating time to volunteer work in her community. Her thoughtful, empathetic nature guiding her to always help those around her. Her smile, charisma, beauty and heart were unmatched and will never be forgotten. Through all her hardships she demonstrated amazing strength and courage, touching countless hearts along the way. Though the pain is unbearable, we are grateful for the cherished time we had with Rosie, as it was precious beyond words.

Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved father Antonio, with whom she has been reunited.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
