Salvatore Puzzo

With great sadness, the family of Salvatore Puzzo announces his peaceful passing on July 25, 2026. Born on March 10, 1948, in the picturesque village of Altilia, Cosenza, Italy. Predeceased by his loving parents Vittorio & Lorenza Puzzo, his sister Maria and his sister-in-law Rosaria. He leaves behind his brother Antonio, his many nieces and nephews, along with his family and friends. Salvatore’s life was one marked by deep devotion, quiet strength, and enduring love.

For those who had the fortune to know him, Salvatore embodied what it truly means to devote oneself selflessly to family. He was a humble, hard-working man whose quiet nature was interwoven with a steadfast resolve to provide strength, courage and care for those he loved.

Salvatore’s heart belonged to Vincenza, his beloved wife of 55 years. Their years together were filled with love and companionship, sharing countless outings and creating treasured memories side by side. Loving father to Lori (Anthony), Vittorio (Pauline), Sonia (David), and Remo (Stephanie), forever supporting them and celebrating their joys and achievements with his steady presence. Proud Nonno to Paolo (Olivia), Sarah (Daniel), Wayne (Victoria), Salvatore, and Gianluca who brought tremendous joy and pride into his life. In his later years, little Elianna, his great-granddaughter, was cherished deeply as the light of a new generation.

His passions were many, each one a reflection of his Italian heritage and zest for life’s simple pleasures. Salvatore loved watching The Three Stooges, whose antics he so enjoyed. Salvatore also loved the outdoors. He brought to life beautiful gardens and proudly tended vegetables, ensuring that home always meant the smell of fresh earth and the promise of a delicious meal. The gardens yielded more than sustenance. They provided the foundation for his other culinary joys: making wine, sausages, pancetta, and tomato sauce. In addition, he loved roasting chestnuts over the fireplace for family gatherings that bound generations together.

Weekends often found Salvatore playing Italian cards with his friends and family or listening to music that filled the house. Animals always held a special place in his heart, and he was as gentle with them as he was with every soul in his life.

Salvatore delighted in nothing more than time spent surrounded by family and friends. These were not grand occasions, but rather everyday moments, meals shared, stories told, laughter ringing out, the gentle touch of a hand. In all things, Salvatore was social, humble, and quietly generous. Through simple acts of care and hard work, he provided more than material comfort. He cultivated a legacy of love and togetherness.

Family and friends will honour Salvatore’s memory at a visitation on July 31, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre, 5826 Bathurst St, Toronto. A Funeral service will be held on August 1, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., at the same location. Salvatore will be laid to rest at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum, 5830 Bathurst St, Toronto.
