Salvatore Solomita

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Salvatore Solomita who departed this life on December 8, 2025, at the age of 92. Salvatore was born on November 3, 1933, in Grotaminarda, Avellino, Italy. Salvatore is now reunited with his beloved wife, Lucia, his daughter Rina, his parents Cesare and Rachele, and his brother Antonio. Salvatore was the cherished father of Serina (Orlando) and treasured ‘Nonno’ to Rachel and Andrew. They were the joys of his life, and he will live on through the countless memories which they hold dear. Salvatore will be missed by his brother Tomaso (Maria), and his sister Carmela (late Saverio) who live in Italy. Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Italy and Canada will feel his absence.

We would like to acknowledge and express gratitude to Leslene Downs who helped Salvatore continue to live in his home for nearly 2 years before moving to Humber Meadows Long-term care home. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Humber Meadows Long-term care home who loved, cared for and supported Salvatore during the final two years of his life.
