In Loving Memory of Santo Calabrese

August 16, 1932 - April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Santo Calabrese who passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Santo was born on August 16, 1932, in Bivongi, Reggio Calabria, Italy, to Giocondo Calabrese and Anita DeMarco. He was the oldest brother of three and is now reunited with his brother Pasquale (Rita) and sister Lucia (Nico).

At the age of 29, he showed resilience as he immigrated to Canada to work with his father in British Columbia. He later made his home in Toronto, where he married his wife, Aida Ranieri.

He built a life grounded in hard work, devotion to his family, and traditions. He carried with him a deep love for his heritage, which he shared proudly with those around him.

Santo was a loving father to Sandro (Tina), Marcella (Dennis, predeceased), and Mauro (Antonella). He was a proud and cherished Nonno to his many grandchildren, Benjamin, Laura (Paolo), Lea (Adam), Matteo, Michael, Nicole (Mike), Simon, and Vanessa, who brought him immense joy and happiness throughout his life. He was also overjoyed to recently become a bisnonno to baby Matteo, whom he had the blessing of meeting this past September.

Santo will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, and the warmth he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The funeral service will take place following the visitation at 4:00p.m.
