Sergio Clauser

Sergio Clauser, born September 11, 1937, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and deep family love.

Sergio was a devoted husband to Anna and a proud father to Steven (late Maria) and Josie. Family was at the center of his life, and he took immense pride in his grandchildren Serge, Stefan, Nicholas, and Connie, as well as in his role as great-grandfather to Serena. He also shared close bonds with his nieces and nephews Enrica, Laura, and Franco, valuing extended family connections throughout his life.

For over two decades, Sergio worked as a landscaper for the City of Toronto, a career that reflected his appreciation for hard work, consistency, and taking care of his surroundings. He believed in contributing quietly and reliably — values that carried through every part of his life.

Outside of work, Sergio embraced both tradition and activity. He was passionate about cycling and proudly participated in the Team Canada bicycle tour. At home, he found satisfaction in vegetable gardening, helping keep a well-run household, and carrying on time-honoured practices such as wine and sausage making — skills rooted in patience, care, and pride in doing things properly.

Sergio will be remembered as a steady presence, a dedicated family man, and someone who found meaning in work, tradition, and togetherness. His memory will live on through the generations he loved and supported.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honour Sergio’s memory to consider a donation to a charity of their choice.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Thursday January 15, 2026 from 11:00am until the commencement of the service at 12:45pm. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
