Vincenzo (Jimmy) Luca

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vincenzo Jimmy Luca on September 23, 2025 at 93 years of age. Vincenzo was profoundly cherished and admired by those whose lives he touched. Born on January 4, 1932, in the picturesque Marina di Gioiosa Ionica, Calabria, Italy, Vincenzo was a true embodiment of his deep Italian roots, carrying with him a rich heritage that shaped his loving and family-oriented spirit.

For 67 years, Vincenzo was the devoted husband of his loving wife Teresa, whose partnership with him was a testament to true love and commitment, illuminating the lives of all who knew them. Loving father to Anna, Giuseppe, and Emma (Sean). Vincenzo instilled in them the values of kindness, perseverance, generosity and familial devotion. His legacy extends further still, through his grandsons Giancarlo, Daniel, and Joshua Vincenzo, who have all inherited his warmth and passion for life. He was also a dear brother to Clementina. He is predeceased by his four sisters and five brothers, his father Giuseppe, and his mother Caterina.

Vincenzo remained the family patriarch, serving as a guiding light to his many nieces and nephews. His nurturing spirit and unyielding support fostered close-knit relationships that will endure beyond his passing.

After immigrating to Canada, Vincenzo became a successful entrepreneur, first as a barber and later founding his business selling promotional products, which he operated for over 60 years. Vincenzo always approached his endeavors with an unmatched work ethic, enthusiasm and most of all integrity. He had an innate ability to connect with those around him, leaving an indelible mark on both the personal and professional lives of his contemporaries. Vincenzo faithfully served his customers to his very last days.

The only thing that surpassed Vincenzo’s charisma was his love for life's simple pleasures. He danced joyfully - a reflection of his vibrant and loving personality. He was an avid gardener who spent many hours tending to his ever-expanding garden of nearly every imaginable fruit and vegetable. He had an appreciation for wine making and preparing traditional Italian cured meats - passions that flourished alongside his family ties. He cherished every moment spent traveling back to his beloved Italy, where his heart remained intertwined with the lands of his youth.

Above all, family was paramount to Vincenzo, who was happiest enjoying a meal with those he held dear. In addition to his travels to Italy, Vincenzo loved spending time visiting his family in New York.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we remember Vincenzo not only for his accomplishments and his dedication to family but also for the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet the love he infused into the hearts of his family and friends will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral and Reception Centre, 5826 Bathurst Street, Toronto. The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church. 100 Regent Rd., Toronto on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
