Vincenzo Pellegrino, a man whose vibrant spirit and boundless warmth touched the hearts of many, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on October 2, 1934 in the small village of Gagliato in Calabria, Vincenzo’s life was a rich tapestry woven with love, laughter, and kindness. His presence radiated a social grace that brought people together, his love was a steady beacon, and his kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
His family was the heart of his existence. Vincenzo is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Margaret and their son Joey. Loving father to Olga (Joe), Nick (Tina) and Johnny. He was a proud and devoted Nonno to John Paul (Sophie), Danielle, Joseph (Amber), Natalie (Erik), Vincent (Megan), Nicolas, and Joseph, who carry forward his generous spirit and loving nature. His lineage of joy continues even further through his great-granddaughters, Ellie May and Lucianne, embodiments of hope and continuity in the family legacy.
Vincenzo was usually the loudest and proudest Italian in the room. He had a wonderful tendency to remind everyone of his ancestral roots with endless stories and tales…..not to mention that he was definitely the most popular person at each gathering. He was always taking and making calls to his paesani, whether they were here in Toronto, New York or back in Catenzaro.
We will miss him and his homemade vino served in San Pellegrino water bottles. The homegrown grapes and vegetables from the Giardino, the radio always blasting CHIN FM in the garage and much, much more.
Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Lung Association.
