William Robert Maksymiw

August 5, 1943 — April 25, 2023

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the life and love we shared, we say farewell to our beloved father, Bill Maksymiw, who departed from this world on April 25, 2023. Though his absence leaves an irreplaceable void, his legacy of unwavering love and optimism will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us.

Born on August 5, 1943, in Timmins, Ontario, Bill’s journey was marked by treasured love stories shared with his beautiful late wife, Renee, his chosen daughters Tara and Alana and his beloved grandsons Sam, Leo, and Wil. They were his life, his everything!

Together, Bill and Renee embodied a union of enduring devotion and trust, a testament to the power of True Love! Their unbreakable bond, now eternal, will live forever in our hearts.

Bill's larger-than-life presence and huge heart left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. His unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted, coupled with his jovial spirit that filled every room with warmth, defined his character. Beyond his roles as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Bill served as a mentor, friend, and beacon of guidance, offering wisdom and support whenever it was needed most.

Approaching life with infectious passion, Bill infused each day with enthusiasm and zest. His love for life radiated through his pursuits, from his exceptional cooking skills to his fervor for wine, affinity with moose and insatiable curiosity about the world around him. Whether discovering new places, recipes, wines, music, or fostering unforgettable moments of joy and camaraderie around the family table, Bill embraced each moment fully, serving as an inspirational role model.

Bill’s “Never Give Up” attitude fueled his determination to persevere, no matter the odds or setbacks he faced and encouraged all of us to do the same.

Let us honour the life of a man who profoundly touched our lives and hearts in countless ways. While he may no longer be with us physically, we find comfort in knowing that Bill’s spirit will endure through the unconditional love he shared and the cherished memories he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, GIGI! Your loving spirit will remain a guiding force, leading us through darkness, forever illuminating our paths.
